Responsible for overseeing the shop s daily operations, including the safety and efficiency of the staff, equipment, and processes.

• Communicates and supports the Kirby Smith vision and core values of One Mission, One Team, One Plan, One Goal
• Oversees the shop staff and equipment, ensuring that all operations are being carried out in accordance with company policies and safety regulations
• Ensures that production is running efficiently and that all materials and products meet quality standards
• Trains and supervises shop staff, providing guidance and feedback as needed
• Monitors the progress of projects and ensures that deadlines are met
• Troubleshoots and resolves any issues that may arise
• Implements new processes and procedures as required in coordination with the branch service manager
• Coordinates with other departments to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of operations
• Ensures shop area is clean, organized, and free of dangerous or hazardous materials
• Ensures that the correct tooling is available and maintained
• Reads, interprets and composes work orders
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Strong understanding of the industry regarding safety protocols, Industry terminology, and required documentation
• Experience in best management practices and concepts and the ability to apply it in an acceptable and approved manner
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills
• Adept at organizing, planning, and task completion to manage a high volume of department paperwork
• Proficient with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and various web-based applications

• Pushing/Pulling/Lifting/Carrying up to 50 pounds without assistance
• Physical ability to squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, climb, and reach overhead
• Must be able to work in extreme heat or cold and wet, damp, dusty, or windy conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises, hazardous materials, and fumes/odors associated with the shop
• Physical ability to perform maintenance on equipment for extended hours with continual mounting and dismounting throughout the workday
• Ability to adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individual PPE in a functional condition
