Staff Accountant

Sooner Recon LLC is a mid‑size roofing and sheet metal specialty contractor based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We are a well‑established, growing construction company and we’re looking for a detail‑oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. This is a full‑time, on‑site Staff Accountant role located in Tulsa, OK. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting in financial reporting, preparing and maintaining accounting records, and supporting the management team in decision‑making. Daily tasks may include preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, processing payroll, managing accounts receivable and payable, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies. The role also entails collaboration with internal teams to improve financial processes and outcomes.

• Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes
• Prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and integrity
• Assist with financial reporting and internal analysis
• Support audits and special projects as needed

• Strong accounting fundamentals, including experience with general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing
• Knowledge of financial reporting, account reconciliations, and compliance regulations
• Proficient in using accounting software and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
• Effective oral and written communication abilities to collaborate across teams
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Prior experience in accounting roles, particularly in relevant industries, is preferred
• Experience with Sage products, specifically Sage Intacct, is preferred, but not required
