Overview

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Vanderbilt Tullahoma Harton Hospital is a 14‑bed unit with a nurse‑to‑patient ratio of 1:2. This ICU provides care for adult patients with critical illnesses such as myocardial infarction, acute respiratory failure, shock, diabetic keto acidosis, and multi‑system organ failure.

• Collaborate in establishing the plan of care, coordinate and implement care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
• Analyze comprehensive information pertinent to the patient’s care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
• Continually utilize the nursing process to evaluate patient progress toward goals and apply appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
• Employ strategies to promote health and maintain a safe and healthy environment.
• Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

• Patient Assessment & Evaluation (Novice):
  Assess and evaluate patients in moderate‑difficulty home settings, including primary care interviews and physical assessment.
• Patient Education (Novice):
  Provide patient education in moderate‑difficulty practical applications.
• Care Planning (Novice):
  Anticipate resource needs, prioritize tasks, schedule activities, and manage multiple assignments with minimal disruption.
• Evidence‑Based Nutrition Practice (Novice):
  Search for nutrition evidence to answer clinical questions under guidance.

• Licensure:
  Registered Nurse – Licensure‑Others.
• Education:
  
  Graduate of an approved discipline‑specific program.
• Experience Level: Less than 1 year of relevant work experience.
