OverviewBeyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Open Shift System Administrator, supporting TOS II, at Arnold Air Force Base, TN. As a Sr. Open Shift System Administrator, you will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for design, support and maintenance of Open Shift, Linux Systems and Peripherals for the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.
Open to internal and external candidates. The selected candidate for this requisition may be required to occasionally work outside normal business hours (e.g. application upgrades).
Job SummaryBeyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) is the team selected by the U.S. Air Force to conduct Test and Operations Sustainment at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) at Arnold Air Force Base in Tennessee. AEDC operates more than 55 aerodynamic and propulsion wind tunnels, rocket and turbine engine test cells, space environmental chambers, arc heaters, ballistic ranges and other specialized units located in six states.
Many of the complex's test units have capabilities unmatched elsewhere in the United States; some are unique in the world. AEDC is one of three installations which are part of the Air Force Test Center (AFTC), one of six subordinate commands of the Air Force Materiel Command organization, and an important national resource.
AEDC's mission is to conduct developmental tests and evaluation for the Nation through modeling, simulation, and ground and flight tests. Execution of the mission requires a large team of highly qualified and dedicated professionals from multiple technical disciplines to effectively accomplish the objectives of our test customers.
Job Duties- Serve as a System Administrator for Linux-based servers, workstations, and services, with an emphasis on Open Shift container platform administration and management.
Responsibilities include:- Installation, configuration, and maintenance of Red Hat Open Shift clusters, including networking, storage, and security configurations.
- Deploying, scaling, and managing containerized applications within the Open Shift environment.
- Monitoring Open Shift cluster health, performance, and resource utilization, and implementing proactive measures to optimize performance.
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Open Shift deployments and infrastructure.
- Developing and maintaining Open Shift deployment pipelines and automation using tools like Ansible, Jenkins, Helm, or Git Ops.
- System security configuration, hardening, patching, and monitoring, including implementing Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and other DoD security policies.
- Provide secondary administration support for Linux based systems and other peripheral IT equipment assigned to include:
- Server, workstation and storage system operations, upgrades and enhancements to meet current and future end-user and facility requirements.
- Commercial and government owned software installation, maintenance, and user support.
- System backup hardware, applications and processes.
- Support, maintenance, repair, and installation of workstations and servers, peripheral equipment, and software applications.
- Coordinating with IT Technicians for installation and corrective actions to network devices and cabling.
- Implement and manage vulnerability patches to ensure system security.
- Work with the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) to ensure compliance with Cybersecurity regulations and best practices.
- Ensure Cybersecurity requirements are consistently documented, maintained, evaluated and compliant for Government IT system networks including components of systems.
- Provide end user troubleshooting support for Government IT system networks through the ticket support system.
- Support the use of common work processes and procedures within assigned function across the TOS contract.
- Take an active role in research of new Information Systems technologies and capabilities.
- Periodically evaluate process and program effectiveness and take action to maintain continuous improvement.
- Provide support to AEDC Customer and other contractors.
- Availability outside of working hours to remediate critical issues with IT Infrastructure as required.

- Bachelor's degree in IT-related field plus 5 to 10 years of progressively relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
