Job SummaryResponsible for providing patients aged 14 and older with high‑quality ultrasound procedures and diagnostic evaluations. Performs tasks with minimal supervision and follows hospital policies. Collaborates with healthcare professionals to ensure efficient patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain and interpret echo images.
- Perform transthoracic echo, store images, perform probe disinfection, and maintain logs.
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols.
- Maintain imaging equipment and burn CDs (if needed).
Shift: Wed, Thur, Fri, Sat 8:30 am – 6 pm.
The sign‑on bonus is not applicable to current full‑time VUMC staff or former staff who have worked for VUMC in the past twelve months.
Technical Capabilities- Echocardiography Technology (Novice):
Demonstrates fundamental proficiency with moderate difficulty. - Patient Documentation (Novice):
Demonstrates fundamental proficiency with moderate difficulty under direction. - Compliance (Novice):
Applies basic statutory instructions in normal situations; escalates problems appropriately. - Diagnostic Equipment (Novice):
Demonstrates proficiency with diagnostic tools in moderate difficulty applications.
Exceeds expectations by understanding impact on related departments, solving moderately complex problems, and contributing to team knowledge. Provides informal guidance and support to colleagues.

Position Qualifications- Certifications:
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (or equivalent). - Work Experience:
1 year of relevant experience. - Education:
Graduate of an approved discipline‑specific program.
