What We Do

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an opportunity for a Facility Modeling & Analysis Engineer supporting TOS II at AEDC in Arnold AFB, TN. The engineer will be a member of the Engineering Solutions branch responsible for supporting the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts. The Engineering Solutions branch performs cutting edge technology development work in support of the National Defense Strategy.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be highly organized, have effective verbal and written communication skills, be able to work with discretion and confidentiality, have proven time management skills, be proactive, and be willing to continually learn new duties and skills.

Responsibilities
  • Support execution of technology development tasks for Facility Modeling solutions, including development of Matlab/Simulink physics-based models of AEDC test facilities and test articles.
  • Support the development and application of other computational models and simulations to solve complex physical problems arising in engineering analysis and design (computational engineering).
  • Develop and maintain positive, open relationships with AEDC counterparts and with FM&A technology development customers.
  • Champion a work environment which fosters openness, trust, communications, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.
  • Engage with colleagues as required to push for technological advances, facility improvements, advanced diagnostics, and complex problem solutions.
  • It is a condition of employment to wear company issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Basic Qualifications
  • B.S. degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related scientific discipline from an accredited university.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance and access to the AEDC local area network.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for employment at AEDC due to Air Force security requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in ME, AE, or EE with 3 years of experience in computational development and analysis.
  • Education in fundamental engineering and science, and advanced knowledge of mathematics, algorithms and computer languages.
  • Familiarity with one or more AEDC facilities.
  • Experience with Matlab/Simulink product suite.
  • Experience with PLC-based control systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of developing computational engineering methods and applying modeling & simulation tools to engineering problems.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with employees, clients, and customers.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to participate in and foster a work environment based on openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.

Additional Information

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries are listed for Arnold AFB: $77,000 - $122,000 per year. Salaries for part-time roles will be adjusted based on hours worked.
