Salary: $500-$700 per credit hour
Motlow State is located in the beautiful rolling hills of middle Tennessee and has four campuses that serve students from eleven counties. Motlow positions are contingent upon funding availability and budget approval.
General Function:EMT-Paramedic Instructor/Coordinator shall mean an employee responsible for the delivery of instruction in accredited Paramedic Programs. The individual shall be knowledgeable in all aspects of prehospital care, capable of applying techniques and modalities of adult education, and of managing resources and resource personnel.
Minimum Qualifications:- Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Currently licensed as a Tennessee EMT-Paramedic, registered nurse, or physician.
- Professional license must be free from history of revocation, denial or suspension.
- Licensed emergency care experience shall include a minimum of two years' practice.
- Administrative experience shall include a minimum of two (2) years in EMS educational administration or greater than three hundred (300) hours of EMS instruction.
- Current endorsement in a Board-approved trauma, cardiac, and pediatric course at the provider level.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach courses as assigned in accordance with the catalog description and the approved course syllabus; teach dual enrollment classes at area high schools as assigned; travel to multiple campuses as assigned.
- Collaborate collegially with faculty, Department Lead, and curriculum chair about curricular and programmatic issues and needs.
- Support students, strategic plan, goals, and business operations of the college; work as part of both discipline-specific and multidisciplinary teams.
- Stay current with developments in teaching discipline including scholarship, research, and innovative teaching approaches.
- Teach up to 12 credit hours per semester as assigned.
- Maintain availability for meetings with students and colleagues as needed.
- Respond promptly to the Dean's requests.
- Submit all paperwork timely and completely.
- Perform duties in accordance with T and MSCC policies.
- Attend Adjunct Orientation.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills including database management, word processing, spreadsheets, email, and internet.
- Knowledge of confidentiality statutes and FERPA policies.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
