is accepting applications for the following position:
Agriculture Adjunct (pool)
Position Summary: Pool Position
Campus: Any
Salary: $500-$700 per credit hour
Motlow State is located in the beautiful rolling hills of middle Tennessee and has four campuses serving students from eleven counties. Positions are contingent upon funding availability and budget approval.
General Function:
Provide high-quality instruction in accordance with the catalog description and approved syllabus; facilitate student learning; and perform evaluations of student progress using standard course outlines.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in discipline or a qualifying field from a regionally accredited college or university, or a Master’s degree in any field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in discipline or a qualifying field from a regionally accredited institution by the Final date to receive applications.
Qualifying fields include Agriculture, Zoology, Animal Science.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in discipline or a qualifying field from a regionally accredited college or university, or a Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in discipline or a qualifying field. Three years of community college teaching experience preferred.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach assigned courses according to the catalog description and syllabus; teach dual enrollment classes at area high schools; travel to multiple campuses as needed.
- Collaborate with faculty, Department Lead, and curriculum chair on curricular and programmatic issues.
- Support students, strategic goals, and college operations by working collegially with faculty, administration, and staff.
- Stay updated on developments in the teaching discipline, including scholarship and innovative teaching methods.
- Teach up to 12 credit hours per semester as assigned.
- Maintain availability for meetings with students and colleagues throughout the semester.
- Respond promptly to requests from the Dean.
- Submit all paperwork timely and accurately.
- Comply with T and MSCC policies.
- Attend adjunct orientation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for diverse communities.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Banner, word processing, spreadsheets, email, and internet.
- Understanding of confidentiality statutes and FERPA policies.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with students and staff.
