Dispatcher - Temporary Position (Temporary)

The Dispatcher oversees road service through communication with Operators and provides customer support to clients. Moving people safely and efficiently is the core of this role.
Pay: $24.00 – $28.50 per hour (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement Payscale). Starting at $24.00 with progression to $28.50 after 6 years.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee road service assigned carriers by tracking trip performance measures, route timing, incidents, etc.
- Provide customer support by responding to questions and concerns regarding customer trips, including no‑shows, cancellations and missed trips.
- Manage emergency situations for vehicle operators; act as liaison between the carrier and emergency services.
- Manage daily service by reviewing route performance and proactively responding to situations that impact customer service.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED;
Technical Degree preferred. - 3–5 years of dispatching experience.
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.
- Employee is generally required to sit, type, or look at a computer screen for long periods.
- Work environment will be a combination of both indoors and outdoors.
