Radiologic Technologist - Per Diem, Radiology, Tulare

Overview

Centrally located within the heart of California, Adventist Health Tulare serves the Central Valley with a 108-bed acute care hospital, emergency department, and primary and specialty care services. Tulare offers access to outdoor recreation and is within a short drive to Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.

Operates x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated portions of the body as ordered by physicians. Positions and instructs patients prior to examinations, adjusts the x-ray equipment, and determines proper voltage, current, and exposure time for each radiograph.

• Associate s Degree in radiologic technology:
  Preferred

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – Radiography (ARRT-R):
  Required
• Radiologic Tech (RT) in the state of practice:
  Required in CA and HI
• Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification:
  Required
• Fluoroscopy license in state of employment:
  Required in CA within 6 months of hire

• Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQI BLS) certification:
  Required
• Fluoroscopy (FLUORO):
  Required

• Performs screening procedures for diagnostic interpretation. Explains procedures to patients and answers questions. Prepares equipment for use as needed. Prepares examination rooms for patient exams. Positions patients for imaging exams. Monitors patients and ensures safety during exams.
• Produces diagnostic images. Documents exam information. Reports important information to the physician.
• Verifies exams on PACS.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
