System Engineer

We are seeking a Mission Systems Integration Engineer to support the design, integration, testing, and certification of complex mission avionics subsystems. This role works across hardware, software, and system-level interfaces to ensure avionics solutions meet performance, safety, and airworthiness requirements throughout the product lifecycle.

The position partners closely with software teams, suppliers, and specialty engineering groups to deliver integrated avionics solutions for aircraft and mission platforms.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

• Integrating mission avionics hardware and software into aircraft and platform-level systems
• Supporting system architecture, design, and development activities for avionics subsystems
• Translating system-level requirements into verifiable and testable designs
• Supporting validation and verification activities, including lab and aircraft testing
• Developing and executing test plans and procedures to support certification efforts
• Coordinating avionics integration activities across internal teams and external suppliers
• Supporting FAA, military, and airworthiness certification processes
• Partnering with specialty engineering teams (safety, EMI/EMC, cybersecurity)
• Providing technical support during production, flight test, and in‑service operations
• Leading technical issue investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
• Supporting proposal efforts, trade studies, and future system upgrades

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience, or
• Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience
• Experience with avionics communication systems
• Working knowledge of RF engineering principles
• Experience with aircraft data networks (e.g., ARINC 429; IMA environments)
• Experience with navigation systems
• Experience with flight management systems (FMS)
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting avionic equipment, electronics, or aircraft systems
