Position Title:

Mid‑Level Systems Engineer – Tukwila, Washington

This role focuses on the analysis of individual aircraft systems relative to overarching system of systems and specific customer/operational needs to balance lifecycle performance and cost for multiple domestic and international P‑8 customers. The focus is systems integration for P‑8 modification programs, with heavy emphasis on quantitative and qualitative analysis, creative problem‑solving, and frequent interactions with customers, internal stakeholders, and technical subject matter experts.

It requires strong written/oral communication, presentation skills, a collaborative drive, program management knowledge, cross‑functional collaboration, and independent decision‑making. The P‑8 is a 737‑derivative platform. Prior experience with P‑8 fleet support or aircraft system design is preferred. The successful candidate will have strong integration experience and will be well positioned to work with a diverse set of P‑8 engineering functions, P‑8 sustainment integrators, program management, the US Navy customer, and technical contractors.

Position

Responsibilities
  • Engage with US Navy and foreign military customers to provide architecture‑level problem solving and support for P‑8 modification related issues.
  • Play a leadership role in the P‑8 engineering change process to ensure cross‑functional collaboration, sound technical solutions, and on‑time engineering releases.
  • Collaborate with US Navy, foreign military customers, and Boeing internal stakeholders to mature technical capability offerings and develop proposals for new business related to P‑8 modifications.
  • Communicate with internal Boeing stakeholders, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure effective P‑8 mod execution with a focus on resolution of technical, schedule, and budget challenges.
  • Support customer (external) and Boeing (internal) milestone reviews, technical forums, and customer interactions.
  • Provide support for risk, issues, and opportunities (RIO) management utilizing the Boeing enterprise BORIS tool.
  • Provide cross‑functional integration across all teams (internal and external) to ensure high quality, on‑time, on‑schedule execution.
Basic Qualifications (Required)
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or a non‑US equivalent directly related to the work statement.
  • At least 2 years working in a cross‑functional environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • At least 3 years within engineering skill codes or roles.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired)
  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Experience working on the P‑8 platform or other commercial derivative.
  • Experience in a role that required strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience working in engineering change management.
  • Experience providing engineering support to aircraft production systems.
  • Experience working in an MRO environment.
