Academy Schools, a small, innovative K-12 school in Tukwila, WA, is looking for a passionate and experienced Long Term Substitute Teacher (3rd-5th grade class) to work with our exceptional team. With just 30 students in the school—most of whom are neurodiverse—we are committed to meeting the unique needs of every learner. Our students experience a range of challenges, including Autism, ADHD, school aversion, anxiety, OCD, and processing disorders.

This position is available now and would last the duration of the remainder of the school year (ie. January-mid-June). There are 4-7 students in this classroom (and 5 of those students have BTs to provide behavioral support primarily for attention based behaviors).

• Design curriculum and teach students in 3rd-5th grade (in small groups based on grade, skill, or interest) using hands-on, interdisciplinary, research-based strategies.
• Partner in the creation and implementation of individualized learning programs to support students’ diverse needs.
• Work closely with teachers to develop and adapt curriculum for mixed-grade classes.
• Be an advocate for students, ensuring they receive the best possible support and resources.
• Collaborate with families, staff, and the broader community to foster a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Pay: $45,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year (will be pro-rated based on number of remaining months in the school year)
