The role of the Warehouse Receiving Lead is to proactively plan, execute, and oversee all receiving and transfer operations of the Receiving Department in conjunction with the warehouse management team. The Receiving Lead will coach the Receiving Associates to safely and efficiently load outgoing merchandise onto trailers and containers and unload incoming merchandise from our vendors and other AFW facilities. The Receiving Lead will coach the Receiving Associates to practice team lifting, utilize hand trucks, and ensure all merchandise is tagged and inventoried correctly.

The Receiving Lead will also coordinate and work effectively with multiple departments to continuously improve processes, maximize efficiency and exceed customer service expectations.

Compensation Package:

Pay rate:
Starting at $18.00/hour and up depending on experience

Afternoon and Weekend Premiums!

Job Requirements

  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to work all shifts - all schedules, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Commitment to AFW’s safety policies and procedures and ability to promote awareness.
  • Basic computer skills

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED is preferred; related degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience accepted in lieu of diploma.

Ability to work collaboratively alongside warehouse management team.

Physical Demands/Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing:
    Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 hours a day.
  • Coaching Receiving team members may require lifting, bending, kneeling, stooping and moving furniture.
    • Requires constant use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back.
    • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 50-100lbs
    • Lift, lower, push and pull all sizes of furniture up to and in excess of 100 lbs.

Physical Work Environment:

  • Fluorescent Lighting
  • Climate effected by outside conditions
  • Extreme temperature fluctuations in warehouse
