Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Building Maintenance
The Maintenance Tech III is responsible for completing maintenance tasks to repair and preserve the quality of the facilities equipment. Their duties include conducting routine maintenance checks and providing expertise in relevant areas of maintenance.
The Tech’s role is to maintain building operations properties and equipment, while also providing expertise to enhance facilities or longevity of equipment.
Responsibilities:- Perform routine facilities and equipment maintenance, construction, and repair tasks according to service, quality, and safety standards.
- Install, inspect, repair, and perform preventative maintenance to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety and waste management systems.
- Employ advanced mechanical skills required to perform project tasks, including painting, drywall, carpentry, welding and fabrication.
- Possess advanced skills in performing repairs on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and waste management systems.
- Work with or assist trades contractors to complete projects or complex repairs.
- Perform preventative measures to the facilities, properties and equipment to reduce the risk of future problems.
- Assist in moving furniture or materials within the facility.
- High school diploma or GED
- 8+ years of experience
- Or two years’ experience with additional specialized training and/or certification
- Forklift and backhoe experience
- Construction skills such as carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing, roofing, welding and fabrication.
- Advanced critical thinking and problem solving skills for fixing maintenance issues
- Administrative skills for ordering supplies, handling records, and recording maintenance
- Physical strength and dexterity to lift, move and operate equipment
- Stamina to deal with long hours standing or walking
- Strong verbal and written communication for discussing maintenance issues
- Ability to work in extreme hot or cold conditions
- Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Good organizational, cleanliness and time management skills
- Stamina for standing for long hours
- Must be able to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Must access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities
- Must be able to use ladders, lifts and booms to access shelving, roofs, ceilings and high reach points.
