PositionJoin Our Team as a Service Technician at Epiroc!
At Epiroc USA LLC, our Parts and Services (PSD) Division provides a broad range of services with the aim of maximizing customers’ productivity. We focus on spare parts supply, professional service, support solutions and training.
ResponsibilitiesLevel 1:
- Complete Pre-delivery Inspections (PDI) on machines
- Perform routine preventative maintenance, troubleshoot and repair all Epiroc products in accordance with manufacturer recommendations
- Ensure the appropriate tools and equipment are on-site and properly maintained
- Communicate service and other relevant activities to the Service Coordinator in a complete and timely manner
- Understand and adhere to Company safety and environmental requirements, including promoting and practicing proper safety procedures and correct use of PPE; safety is our first priority. Work sustainably, being conscious of the environmental impact
- Maintain courteous and professional demeanor and communication with customers and internal staff at all times
Level 2:
In addition to Level 1 tasks, the Level 2 technician will be responsible for:
- Take initiative to run diagnostics on malfunctioning equipment, determine possible causes and initiate repairs
- Work independently with minimal supervision, including troubleshooting on hydraulic and electrical repairs
- Execute diagnostics on malfunctioning components, determine probable causes of failure, and perform repairs as required
- Support varied activities with multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Level 3:
In addition to Level 1 and Level 2 tasks, the Level 3 technician will be responsible for:
- Test and document proper operating parameters
- Complete detailed failure analyses on rebuilt components and identify root causes, corrective actions and preventive steps; initiate warranty process as needed
- Serve as a subject matter expert for other service technicians and support training and development
Level 1:
- Basic computer skills; familiarity with Epiroc equipment; strong mechanical aptitude with experience in industrial/commercial fluid power and low voltage electrical control systems
- Own hand tools and ability to expand tools per location requirements
- Complete required trainings within specified time frames (TL1, PDI procedure, machine specifications, reading schematics within 3 months; Safe Start Modules 1-5 within first year)
- Maintain required US Department of Labor, Mine Safety & Health Administration training certificates or complete training as required
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Travel may be required for training or support at other service centers
Level 2:
- Certificate of Completion from technical/trade school or 2-5 years of relevant experience
- Working knowledge of hydraulic systems, powertrain function and related components
Level 3:
- Certificate of Completion from technical/trade school or 5+ years of relevant experience
