Job SummaryThe Maintenance Tech II is responsible for completing maintenance tasks to repair and preserve the quality of the facilities and equipment. Their duties include independently conducting routine maintenance checks and taking inventory of supplies and tools. The Tech’s role is to maintain building/property operations and ensure the facilities are safe and functional.
Responsibilities- Perform routine facilities maintenance, construction, and repair tasks according to service, quality and safety standards.
- Following standard operating procedures, the Tech performs installs, inspects, repairs, and performs preventative activities on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, safety, and waste management systems.
- Employ mechanical skills required to perform tasks and repairs in projects, including painting, drywall, carpentry, fabrication and fixtures.
- Possesses intermediate skills in performing repairs on electrical, plumbing, and waste management systems.
- Work with or assist trades contractors to complete projects or complex repairs.
- Perform preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems.
- Reports to Maintenance Supervisor on current jobs in progress.
- Assist in moving furniture or other materials within the facility.
- Will work under moderate supervision.
- Troubleshoot, repair and/or perform preventative maintenance related to facilities, properties and production equipment.
- Support company, facilities, properties and equipment as needed and assigned.
- Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
- Work within a team environment and interact with all areas of production effectively.
- A high degree of attention to detail, precision, and followthrough.
- Construction skills such as carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing, roofing, and welding.
- Intermediate critical thinking and problem‑solving skills for fixing maintenance issues.
- Administrative skills for ordering supplies, handling repair records, and recording maintenance.
- Physical strength and dexterity to lift, move and operate equipment.
- Stamina to deal with long hours standing or walking.
- Strong verbal and written communication for discussing maintenance issues.
- Ability to work in extreme hot or cold conditions.
- Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Good organizational, cleanliness and time management skills.
- High school diploma or similar degree.
- 2 to 8 years of experience.
- Stamina for standing for long hours.
- Must be able to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Must access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
- Must be able to use ladders, lifts and booms to access shelving, roofs, ceilings and high reach points.
