Overview

GNC is seeking a dynamic individual for a Store Manager in Training (SMIT) role. This development-focused program is crafted to prepare you to manage your own store under the leadership of a Store Manager or District Manager. The role teaches the skills and knowledge needed to operate a store, drive for results, and lead a team.

What You'll Do

This is a Full-Time Hourly Supervisory Position. As a SMIT, you will learn and be expected to lead, coach, and support your team to provide exceptional service and guidance to our customers. You will oversee daily store operations along with a Store Manager or District Manager, including business performance and product management, and ensure your team has the tools to succeed.

You will represent the GNC brand by offering expert product knowledge and promoting our "Live Well" message to customers.

  • Responsible for actively engaging with your leader in training initiatives, projects, and goals to support your path to promotion during the program.
  • Support the total shopping experience, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and customer relationships that lead to sales and repeat business (e.g., MYGNC Rewards).
  • Ability to achieve and exceed personal sales and productivity goals, while helping sales associates realize their sales potential.
  • Build strong teams, demonstrate leadership and managerial skills, such as giving feedback, recruiting, hiring, and performance management.
  • Opening, closing and operating the retail facility, including cash handling, inventory counts, and deposits according to GNC procedures.
  • Attend community events to promote the organization’s mission and initiatives.
Environmental Factors & Working Schedule
  • Must be able to stand or walk for up to eight hours a day.
  • Frequent reaching, bending, and twisting; capable of lifting up to 20 pounds regularly and up to 40 pounds occasionally. Push/pull up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders, reach and bend.
  • Work in temperatures ranging from 50–85 degrees, especially in stock areas.
  • Use of a computer up to 60% of the time during the day.
Schedule Requirements
  • SMITs work five (5) days / 40 hours per week and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on store needs.
