Overview
Cook II (Cafe Bolo) – University of Arizona, Arizona Student Unions. Join the heart of campus life to craft delicious dishes, prioritize food safety, and deliver engaging dining experiences. This position requires evening, weekend and holiday work.
Location:
Main Campus, Tucson, AZ USA
- Prepare a complete selection of dishes and other menu items.
- Review recipes and make necessary changes to meet production requirements.
- Utilize Food Pro for recipes.
- Advise cooks on proper methods of preparation.
- Check for necessary products and report shortages to Supervisors.
- Coordinate and place produce orders.
- Coordinate meat and fish orders and communicate needs to the warehouse Lead.
- Check walk-ins and freezers for proper product rotation to control product waste.
- Communicate changes or specials with cooks daily.
- Write all new recipes using standard dining services recipe form so they can be added to Food Pro.
- Keeps recipes updated to reflect actual ingredients and amounts used, ensuring accurate pricing and nutritional information.
- Yield test recipes for accuracy.
- Greet and serve customers in a friendly, courteous manner.
- Provide suggestions and input to supervisor.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of weights and measures.
- Knowledge of food service operations including large quantity food preparation.
- Skill in operating various institutional/commercial kitchen equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Must be able to transport/move a maximum of 50 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
