Your Role: As a Cook II, you will be instrumental in crafting delicious dishes while prioritizing food safety. From gourmet meals to campus favorites, you will utilize a variety of cooking skills and equipment to deliver exciting and fun dining experiences.
This position requires evening, weekend and holiday work.

Duties & Responsibilities- Prepare a complete selection of dishes and other menu items.
- Review recipes and make necessary changes to meet production requirements.
- Utilize Food Pro for recipes.
- Advise cooks on proper method of preparation.
- Check for necessary products and report shortages to Supervisors.
- Coordinate and place produce order.
- Coordinate meat and fish orders and communicate needs to warehouse Lead.
- Check walk-ins and freezer for proper product rotation to control product waste.
- Communicate changes or specials with cooks daily.
- Write all new recipes using standard dining services recipe form so they can be added to Food Pro.
- Keep recipes updated so that they reflect actual ingredients and amounts used, ensuring proper pricing and nutritional accuracy.
- Yield tests recipes for accuracy.
- Greet and serve customers in a friendly, courteous manner.
- Provide suggestions and input to supervisor.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of weights and measures.
- Knowledge of food service operations including large quantity food preparation.
- Skill in operating various institutional/commercial kitchen equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Must be able to transport/move a maximum of 50 lbs.
- High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
- Three years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Must be able to work evening, weekends, and holidays.
- One year experience in a high volume restaurant setting.
