The UA Center for Disparities in Diabetes, Obesity, and Metabolism (CDDOM) is seeking to hire a Laboratory Research Assistant to join our team. The laboratory research assistant will work within CDDOM's El Banco's Research Web Lab and El Banco's Sample Processing lab to assist with aliquoting samples for storage, DNA isolation, running assays, and assisting with genotyping.

Duties & Responsibilities El Banco Wet Lab Laboratory Responsibilities- Operating laboratory instruments such as centrifuge to spin biospecimen samples.
- Pipetting biospecimen samples to transfer samples into aliquots for long term storage.
- Strong organization skills and significant attention to detail for data entry and following established protocols.
- Ability to work both independently and with a team, resolving issues with a positive outcome.
- High level of integrity, ethics and professionalism and handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Strong communication and computer skills.

Minimum Qualifications- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
- Prior experience in a wet lab, following established protocols, utilizing laboratory equipment such as: centrifuges,
-80 freezers, working with liquid nitrogen, storage dewars, data entry, micro‑pipettes, etc., and properly documenting work in the lab.
