Research Associate III - PHCS

Description

Responsible for conducting research, development and manufacturing laboratory experimentation and other scientific activities to support Ventana projects. Exercises technical expertise and discretion in the design, execution and interpretation of experiments that contribute to project strategies. Prepares technical reports, summaries, protocols and quantitative analyses. Presents and discusses results of experiments within department and project team. Maintains high level of professional expertise through familiarity with scientific literature and may participate in conferences and professional societies.

Follows company policies and procedures for GMP, GLP, Design Control and others as appropriate. Maintains complete and accurate laboratory documentation and electronic files. May act as principal investigator in conducting own experiments.

• Daily tasks:
  Report writing, data analysis, technical writing (RA3).
• Lab work:
  Pipetting, dilution, automated instruments; not highly intense techniques.
• Systems:
  Training provided on Roche Ultra/Ultra Plus instruments.
• Focus:
  Development/verification/validation rather than traditional research.
• Contract:
  
  1 year with possibility of extension (up to 3 years).
• Qualification Standards:
  PhD—overqualified;
  Master’s—typically too high but fresh Master’s may align with RA3;
  Bachelor’s—science degrees;
  Level 1 roles may accept straight Bachelor’s with classroom project explanations.
• Backgrounds:
  Chemistry or biology degrees considered.
• Desired Qualities:
  Communication—strong collaboration and ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
• Scientific understanding—solid grasp of principles, pathology, and development processes.
• Lab experience—hands‑on wet lab skills required.
• Adaptability—flexibility to move between roles.

Intermediate Level

This is a Contract position based out of Oro Valley, AZ.

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $34.00/hr.
