Job Title: Senior Research Associate – Ventana Projects (Onsite, Tucson, AZ)
Compensation: $38/hr, 2‑year contract
Location: Onsite in Tucson, AZ – vaccination not required
Summary: The Senior Research Associate will conduct laboratory experimentation, support Ventana assay development projects, design experiments, prepare reports, and collaborate across teams to meet project objectives and maintain high standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities- Design experimental plans to support project objectives.
- Execute bench experiments; make detailed observations and analyze data.
- Prepare technical reports, summaries, and quantitative analyses.
- Maintain complete and accurate records and laboratory documentation.
- Act independently to develop methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria.
- Identify and implement improvements to work processes and the laboratory environment.
- Recognize and document activities for publication and/or patent potential.
- Participate in scientific conferences and contribute to scientific journals.
- Work on complex problems that require evaluation of intangible variables.
- Exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria.
- Participate or lead cross‑functional technical teams such as failure investigations or core teams.
- Work well in a team environment, being a productive project member, suggesting creative solutions, and providing input to project planning.
- Establish interfaces across other organizational groups.
- Train others in areas of expertise.
- May supervise lower‑level personnel and oversee laboratory operations.
- Troubleshoot problems and institute corrective actions.
- Prepare and present experimental procedures and results to group and project teams.
- Monitor work to ensure quality and continuously promote a quality‑first approach.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- MS in Biology/Chemistry/Biochemistry or a related field with ~1 year or more experience (Preferred) or a BS with 6+ years of progressive work experience demonstrating increasing competencies.
- Knowledge of a wide range of experimental techniques and skill in their application.
- Ability to determine methods and procedures independently for new assignments.
- Capability to search scientific literature for general and specific information.
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, graphical and presentation software.
- Experience in a regulated industry, familiarity with laboratory techniques, and knowledge of IHC, in situ analysis, technical summary writing, and quantitative analysis.
- Strong communication, prioritization, and task execution skills.
- Proficiency with SAP for data collection, Google Slides, and Minitab is a plus.
