Postdoctoral Research Associate

Position Highlights

The Wyant College of Optical Sciences is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate with expertise and/or interest in Computational Imaging, Holography and Optical design. The ideal candidates will contribute to the research of imaging technology being developed for assessment of non‑melanoma skin cancers. This position is full‑time and on‑site at the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ.

• Contribute to research projects in close collaboration with faculty supervisors, PhD students and undergraduates.
• Innovate new areas of computational imaging, model optical designs, and perform lab work for data acquisition and post‑processing.
• Present research findings in meetings and publish in scientific journals; maintain detailed records and datasets.

• Must have a Ph.D. by the time of hire in Optics, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Extensive research experience in prototyping coherent/holographic imaging systems.
• Expertise in optical design software such as Zemax and CodeV.
• Demonstrated research experience in holographic waveguide development and/or flat‑optics design, with a focus on optical system miniaturization.

Full‑time (40 hours per week, 1.0 FTE). Exempt under FLSA. Job Category:
Research. Rate of pay: NIH salary guidelines, depending on experience. Criminal background check: name‑based, non‑security sensitive. Tuition reduction for employees and qualified family members.
