Position HighlightsThe University of Arizona (UA) Physics department is excited to invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate interested in research related to experimental 2D material physics research.
The start date would be August 24, 2026 or a mutually agreed upon date.
This is a year to year appointment, expected to renew through August 2028 contingent on departmental need, funding availability, and performance.

Duties & Responsibilities- Develop and lead an independent research agenda centered on 2D material physics research; disseminate work through publications and presentations; contribute to public‑engagement opportunities.
- Develop and implement research initiatives, collaborations, publications, and/or events (e.g., talks, workshops, visitor programs, etc.) as needed and relevant to research agendas.
- Collaborate with faculty and scholars in support of a welcoming academic environment (including organizing collaborative meetings, supervising/mentoring graduate and undergraduate students).
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Ph.D. or equivalent degree in physics, electrical engineering, or a related field by time of hire.
- Candidates with a Ph.D. in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics are preferred.
- Research experience relevant to one or more of the following scientific areas: 2D material device fabrication, electron beam lithography nanofabrication, low temperature magneto‑transport, scanning tunneling microscopy, scanning near‑field optical microscopy, low temperature optical microscopy.
