Position SummaryJob Summary: As the Tucson facility’s Plant Quality Manager, you will lead internal-quality and customer-quality functions. This includes monitoring, evaluating, and improving production processes, sustaining the quality philosophy and culture at the plant level, and establishing, maintaining, and optimizing the plant quality management system. The goal is to drive Zero Defects through ISO 9001 implementation and continual improvement methods (problem-solving tools, prevention methods, kaizen, etc.).
Scope,Supervision and Interaction
You will report to the Division Quality Manager and act as the management representative for internal and customer quality within the Tucson, AZ facility. Responsibilities include supervising and coordinating Quality resources and collaborating with other departments to maintain the quality management system, solve quality concerns, and facilitate cost-effective production of high-quality products. You will interact with all functional areas, customers, field sales, regulatory agencies, and division management.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage the ATR process for customer-returned goods, ensuring timely completion of actions and reports.
- Manage the cross-functional CAR process for corrective actions by assigning personnel to quality teams and guiding them through problem-solving; adjust priorities to complete critical CARs and 8
Ds. - Effectively manage customer quality escapes by driving cross-functional focus to contain and implement corrective actions.
- Communicate with customers on quality concerns, 8
Ds, escapes, containments, and escalations. - Promote Zero Accidents, Zero Defects, and other lean and quality principles within the facility and drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain and improve Quality Management System processes (corrective actions, non-conforming material, auditing, training, etc.).
- Ensure individuals affecting quality are trained and demonstrate appropriate skills and performance results.
- Implement performance measurements to evaluate quality, customer satisfaction, and cost of poor quality; use results to target improvements.
- Track and report key quality metrics (first pass yield, scrap, cost of poor quality, etc.).
- Identify, develop, and implement additional sources of quality data.
- Regularly inform production personnel of quality issues and mentor them through problem solving to identify and eliminate root causes.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- 8-10+ years in Quality, Engineering, or related field.
- 3-5+ years in a manufacturing facility.
- 3+ years of experience with Quality systems, programs, audits, and procedures.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools and project management using these tools.
- Excellent analytical abilities and understanding of Quality tools (8D, FMEA, Control Plans, etc.).
- Expert-level analytical, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on experience working with production personnel to solve quality problems using root cause analysis tools.
- Proven experience leading functional and cross-functional teams on projects with successful outcomes.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 auditing, management, and maintenance;
