The Cardiothoracic PCU Unit is a unit specializing in the care of adult post‑surgical cardiothoracic patients, including those recovering from coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) and valve replacements, minimally invasive robot‑assisted bypass, lung resection, heart and lung transplant, thoracotomy, major resections for lung and esophageal cancer, complex aortic surgery, endovascular repair of thoracic aortic aneurysms, and minimally invasive thoracic surgery such as video‑assisted thoracoscopy (VATS) lobectomy for lung cancer and resection of mesothelioma.
Specialty training is provided for the management of patients placed on total artificial heart and left ventricular assist devices to treat end‑stage heart failure. This program is Joint Commission Certified and is one of only a few in the state to offer this highly innovative treatment option.
Patient care is achieved through teamwork from a dynamic group of highly skilled nurses, technicians, physicians from cardiology, pulmonary medicine, vascular surgery, oncology, licensed mid‑level practitioners, case managers, social workers, and therapists to offer the latest in multidisciplinary care.
Full‑time
: 36 hours per week, three 12‑hour shifts.
Day Shift 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM. Must be available to work holidays/weekends.
