Overview

RN House Supervisor at Sonora Behavioral Health with a $12K sign on bonus. Night Shift, 3 / 12 hour shifts, every other weekend.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day nursing operations of the facility and ensure staffing is adequate to provide care.
  • When scheduled, oversee the delivery of behavioral health/nursing services in a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams, other departments and administration to meet residents' physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental and cultural needs; address and resolve customer complaints when needed.
  • Provide leadership to assure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as nursing practice standards. Prioritize patient safety.
  • Anticipate changes in census and acuity and allocate nursing resources based on patient needs.
  • Role model customer service expectations and demonstrate a sense of urgency related to patient safety.
  • Enforce and interpret policies for the delivery of patient and resident care.
  • Ensure proper staffing for each unit, maintain staff ratios, cover call-offs and vacation time.
  • Ensure chart checks are completed; seclusion/restraint log is up to date; nursing assessments, MARs, and report sheets are accurate and up to date.
  • Complete rounds at the beginning of shift and perform random audits.
  • Assist DON in orienting and evaluating staff competence; provide coaching, mentoring, and training as needed.
  • Assist DON by ensuring facility compliance with professional, regulatory and governmental standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient care processes and outcomes on patient care units to ensure effective and safe care.
  • Coordinate all care rendered to patients, including physician orders and diagnostic information; ensure consultations are ordered.
  • Document medical and behavioral health information and nursing care; administer medications in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Assist in developing and updating a plan of care with measurable goals and interventions tailored to each patient’s needs.
  • Prioritize tasks and delegate staff to ensure quality patient care.
  • Act as leader on shift for admissions and discharges; inform physicians of changes in patient conditions and adjust staffing accordingly.
  • Utilize administrator-on-call for situations requiring additional attention.
  • Provide direct care as needed.
Other Functions
  • Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
Education/Experience/Skill Requirements
  • BSN from an accredited school of nursing preferred.
  • Current registered nursing license in the state of the facility required.
  • Greater than 1 year of experience as an RN strongly preferred.
  • 1 year of experience as an RN in any setting required.
  • 1 year in psychiatric/recovery programs preferred.
  • Some experience as a charge RN or other leadership position strongly preferred.
Licenses/Designations/Certifications
  • Current certification or license to teach within the state where the facility is located. CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
  • First aid may be required based on state or facility.
