Overview
RN Special Procedures Area PRN Days position. Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.
Responsibilities- Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
- Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
- Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
- Assessment – A systematic, dynamic way to collect and analyze data about a patient, including physiological, psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
- Initial assessment
- Re-assessment
- Focused assessment based on patient condition, setting and population
- Planning and Outcomes – Based on assessment and problem identification, the nurse sets measurable short- and long-range goals in collaboration with the patient and family; goals and care plans are documented for access by the care team.
- Establishing daily goals with the patient and family
- Formulating a plan of care
- Transition or Discharge planning
- Implementation – Care is provided according to the plan to ensure continuity of care during hospitalization and discharge; care is documented in the patient record.
- Ensures patient safety
- Medication administration
- Provision of ordered treatments
- Patient/Family education
- Provision of nursing care
- Documentation in healthcare record
- Evaluation – Patient status and the effectiveness of nursing care are continuously evaluated and the care plan is updated as needed.
- Care Coordination – Actions initiated by nurses with patients, families, and/or healthcare team to manage the sequence, timing, and effectiveness of patient care from admission to discharge.

Required:
Valid current Arizona Nursing License or compact state license and ability to become Arizona Licensed in 30 days. - Certification
Required:
Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association - Certification Preferred: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or others as required by individual department.
- EDUCATION
- Required: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Work Experience
- Required: 1 year of experience as a licensed RN
