Naph Care is hiring Licensed Practical Nurses to join our team in Tucson, Arizona, at the Pima County Detention Center. We are hiring for a Full‑time Correctional Nurse position.
OverviewAs a Correctional Nurse, you will work alongside officers and other medical professionals to provide care to individuals in residence. You will perform physical assessments, administer medications, manage chronic illnesses, and handle emergencies in a secure environment.
Responsibilities- Perform patient assessments, interview patients about health problems and medication history
- Take vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, and weight
- Provide wound care, including cleaning and bandaging
- Administer medication, including injections and monitor reactions
- Maintain medical records and enter information into the electronic health record (Tech Care)
- Observe patient health and mental health status
- Provide emergency first aid
- Provide patient education and discharge/release planning
- Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Actively state‑certified as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
- Active CPR certification
- Pass facility criminal background check and drug screening
- New graduates encouraged to apply
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and confidential information
- Display integrity and professionalism, adhere to Code of Conduct and all facility policies and legal requirements
Must stand for long periods, lift and move patients up to 50 pounds, bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
