Staff Development / Wound Nurse (RN or LPN)

Sandstone of Tucson is looking for a dedicated Staff Development / Wound Nurse to join our leadership team. This dual‑focused role ensures our staff receive ongoing training and that residents receive exceptional wound care aligned with clinical best practices.

• Oversee onboarding and orientation for new clinical staff.
• Develop, schedule, and facilitate ongoing in‑service training and competency checks.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal training requirements.
• Partner with department leaders to identify staff education needs and performance gaps.
• Maintain accurate training records and competency files.

• Conduct wound assessments and provide evidence‑based wound treatment.
• Monitor healing progress, document findings, and update care plans.
• Collaborate with providers, therapy, and nursing staff on wound prevention and treatment strategies.
• Lead facility‑wide pressure injury prevention initiatives.
• Educate staff on proper skin care, turning schedules, and wound‑related protocols.

• Active AZ RN or LPN license (required).
• Experience in staff development, education, or wound care in a skilled nursing/long‑term care setting preferred.
• Strong communication and teaching skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements (CMS, state survey guidelines, infection control).
