The incumbent will serve as the Richey Community Center Coordinator, overseeing operations, programming, and administrative functions to ensure safe, aligned service delivery for Old Pascua community members. In addition to managing facility operations, the incumbent will lead recruitment and program development efforts that reflect the community’s evolving needs and aspirations. This includes cultivating annual and ongoing offerings that promote enrichment, opportunity, and intergenerational engagement.

The incumbent will steward the Center as a trusted, empowering space that fosters belonging, resilience, and access to services.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee maintenance and repair of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.); manage routine inspections and coordinate work orders with Pascua Yaqui Facilities Management to ensure operational efficiency.
  • The incumbent leads recruitment and onboarding of service providers, instructors, and volunteers to deliver programs aligned with Old Pascua community priorities.
  • Designs and coordinates seasonal events, including observances and resource fairs, in collaboration with Tribal departments.
  • Oversees logistics, outreach, evaluation, and ensures events support community goals. Manages facility operations, including hours, access, maintenance, cleanliness, and daily opening/closing.
  • Maintain the site safety binder; conduct monthly walk-throughs and lead safety drills. Serve as on-site liaison for the PYT Emergency Operations Plan (EOP), ensuring incident reporting and after-action reviews follow Risk Management and EOP protocols.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for building occupants; address concerns related to services, conditions, and access; foster a welcoming and respectful environment.
  • Coordinate with third-party contractors and vendors, and other services. Ensure contract compliance and timely service delivery.
  • Prepare and manage budget estimates; track operational expenses, including utilities and maintenance, through the Tribe’s financial systems; ensure efficient resource allocation.
  • Act as the building’s emergency contact; respond to and manage incidents such as power outages, water leaks, and fire alarms.
  • Maintain records of maintenance schedules, contracts, building usage, and work orders.
  • Prepare regular reports for the Tribal Administrator. Coordinate and promote services provided by the Richey Community Center. Assist in resolving complaints and communicating sensitive or confidential issues to the Tribal Administrator.
  • Build and maintain a six-month rolling programming calendar prioritizing services intake, enrichment, and cultural programming. Develop MOUs and space-use agreements with Procurement and Finance, including insurance, background checks, and payment terms.
  • Conduct efforts to gain community insights. Coordinate with the San Ignacio Council, Old Pascua Museum & Yaqui Culture Center, and service providers serving Old Pascua. Publish monthly calendars and updates through tribal PR approved platforms. The incumbent is responsible for fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment that affirms identity and promotes healing, empowerment, and connection. The Center is to be stewarded as a safe space for dialogue, learning, and celebration, particularly for youth, elders, and families.

    The incumbent responds to community feedback with humility and a commitment to continuous improvement, ensuring the Center remains responsive and grounded in community trust.
  • Establish and revise building policies and procedures to support consistent operations aligned with the tribal priorities.
  • Perform other duties of a similar nature or level as requested by the Tribal Administrator.
Knowledge of
  • Knowledge of public administration, tribal government operations, research and statistical methods, local codes and safety regulations, building systems, and consensus building.
  • Knowledge of Yaqui communities, culture, and community-related issues, or a willingness to learn.
