A Typical Day:
As you inspire people to make confident, informed decisions about their lives, careers, and money, you’ll build client relationships that strengthen year over year.
- Join as a Team Leader and provide leadership to a customer-centric team of associates.
- Accelerate seasonal tax business by managing a single H&R Block tax office.
- Serve as the front-line manager to provide leadership and development of tax office associates, delivering an outstanding client experience, and achieving office growth objectives.
- Become a knowledgeable resource on tax topics and products for associates; advance your knowledge and skills while serving the team.
- Lead daily activities and meetings to ensure completed work according to deadlines, quality standards, priorities, and goals.
- Build an engaging team environment by training and coaching associates to execute Service Standards and recognize outstanding contributions.
- Create associate work schedules, manage timekeeping and overtime, and address conflicts as needed.
- Prepare tax returns, as required.
- Conduct timely performance reviews and address associate issues in partnership with the Associate Relations Center.
- Partner with District General Manager to create and implement office-level growth plans, including developing local partnerships and managing office community involvement.
- Assist the District General Manager in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office positions.
- Serve as point of contact for onsite escalated client service concerns.
- Ensure clients are scheduled properly and conflicts are resolved.
- Lead daily activities to ensure tax office associates meet deadlines with attention to quality standards and priorities.
- Demonstrate leadership to foster a collaborative team environment and recognize outstanding contributions.
- Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to associates.
- Prepare associate work schedules and ensure accurate timekeeping and overtime management.
- Conduct tasks to support tax preparation as required.
- Coordinate timely performance reviews and address performance concerns with appropriate channels.
- Prior experience in customer service, shift leadership, or a similar role.
- Experience supervising or managing people.
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns).
- Annual continuing education and ability to meet IRS and applicable state requirements.
- Computer proficiency with MS Office.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Customer-centric mindset with resilience and motivation.
- Flexible work schedule and adaptability to business needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent or higher.
