Facilities Manager

Description

The Facilities Manager oversees the overall cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance of GRM's campus. This includes all custodial operations, grounds upkeep, and facility presentation for offices, buildings, dorms, casitas, restrooms, and public areas. This role ensures all GRM environments are welcoming, clean, and properly maintained for guests, staff, volunteers, and visitors.

General Activities

• Prioritize, coordinate, and oversee custodial work for all GRM facilities
• Conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds, dorms, casitas, and restrooms to ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are met
• Plan and control daily custodial tasks to ensure effective use of time and resources
• Create custodial cleaning schedules and delegate tasks to Custodians
• Supervise Custodial staff, ensuring safe chemical usage and adherence to cleaning standards
• Provide full leadership and support to the custodial team
• Coordinate and participate in campus-wide cleaning projects, room resets, and setup/tear-down needs
• Schedule contractors for cleaning-related services as needed (e.g., pest control, window cleaning, carpet cleaning)
• Assist, schedule, and oversee volunteers (short and long-term) on facility cleanliness projects
• Maintain custodial inventory; oversee and communicate purchasing needs within budget
• Manage employees' web-based time and attendance records
• Oversee safety and sanitation of Mission facilities as it relates to cleanliness, housekeeping, and appearance
• Provide ongoing training of custodial staff in cleaning methods, chemical handling, and safety practices
• Provide weekly reports as directed
• Share responsibility for on-call rotation related to custodial emergencies (e.g., spills, floods, sanitation issues)
• Coordinate and oversee contracts and work performed by outside vendors related to facility cleanliness
• Record and report outcomes of facility operations as outlined in the department playbook

Essential Experience, Skills, and Competencies

• Strong organizational skills for scheduling and prioritizing custodial tasks
• Proven experience in facilities operations, housekeeping, custodial management, or hospitality services
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations related to cleaning and sanitation
• Familiarity with budget management and supply cost control
• Knowledge of proper use of chemicals and sanitation procedures
• Understanding of OSHA guidelines for custodial operations

Professional Development

• Satisfy all pieces of training as assigned by the manager (onboarding, basic training, OPPD, etc.)
• Attend staff meetings as directed
• Perform other duties as assigned
