* Essential Functions:

** As defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, this classification may include any of the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. * May plan, organize, supervise, and occasionally participate in the work of custodial workers;
* Engages in cleaning of buildings, office facilities, and surrounding areas;
* Trains and instructs custodial workers in proper methods and procedures of custodial work and infection control techniques;
* Inspects completed work to ensure conformance to accepted standards;
* May supervise and participate in loading, unloading, and moving supplies, equipment, and furniture;
* Orders and maintains an inventory of various custodial equipment and supplies;
* Prepares and maintains necessary records and reports;
* Prepares cleaning and disinfectant solutions and ensures proper disposal;
* May perform more difficult maintenance tasks;
* May inspect equipment to determine needs for new parts, repairs, overhauls, and replacements;
* May distribute and collect keys and/or pagers;
* May be assigned to work in a jail or detention center.

* Minimum Qualifications:

**** Two (2) years of commercial, institutional, or industrial custodial experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment.****(Relevant experience and/or education from an accredited college or university may be substituted.)
**** OR:
**** One year of experience with Pima County as a Custodian I or closely related classification as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment.
