Foxtrot Aviation Services is seeking a Lead Utility Maintenance Technician with commercial or industrial maintenance experience to support second‑shift operations at Tucson International Airport. This is a hands‑on lead role in a regulated aviation environment and is intended for candidates with experience in industrial facilities, manufacturing, warehouses, or large commercial buildings. Residential or general handyman backgrounds are not aligned with this position.
This role serves as the primary maintenance presence on second shift and requires the ability to work independently, set safety and quality standards, and elevate issues appropriately.
Act as the lead maintenance technician on second shift, operating with limited supervision.
Perform and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance on facility systems and equipment.
Serve as the point of contact for night‑shift maintenance issues.
Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with airport, customer, and company standards.
Track work orders, inspections, and repairs using a Maintenance Management System (MMS/CMMS).
Key Responsibilities- Responsible for ensuring the completion of all assigned work orders during their shift.
- Perform routine and corrective maintenance on general building systems, equipment, and industrial utilities.
- Enforce and comply with all safety procedures, including Lockout / Tagout (LOTO).
- Maintain inventories of tools, equipment, and supplies; place orders as needed.
- Identify issues proactively and communicate risks, delays, or needs to management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.
- Coordinate effectively with daytime leadership and operations teams.
- Perform general manual labor as required to support facility operations.
- Commercial or industrial maintenance experience required.
- Proven ability to work independently and assume lead responsibility on shift.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience operating industrial machinery and technical equipment.
- Familiarity with OSHA and general industry safety standards.
- Experience using a work order software for daily work tracking.
- Ability to use a computer for documentation and reporting.
- Must provide own tools.
- Able to communicate effectively in English.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- OSHA 10‑Hour (May obtain within first 90 days).
- Lockout / Tagout (LOTO) Training.
- Hazard Communication (Haz Com) Training.
- Aerial Lift / Scissor Lift Certification.
- CPR / First Aid Certification.
- Ability to comply with and pass random drug and alcohol screenings in accordance with airport, customer, and company requirements.
- Ability to bend, twist, lift, and perform general manual labor.
- Comfortable working at heights (no fear of heights).
- Ability to pass a 10‑year background check and obtain airport badging.
- Ability to pass a drug test, including recreational marijuana.
- Open availability and flexibility with scheduling.
- Veterans must provide DD214 if applicable.
