Trial Attorney (Family Law + Criminal Defense) — Mulembo Law PLLC | Tucson, AZ
Arizona Bar admission required. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred, not required.
Mulembo Law PLLC is hiring a trial-focused attorney to join our growing Tucson practice. We’re looking for someone who is confident in court, communicates clearly, and takes pride in excellent client service.
Practice Focus (Case Types)Our core practice areas are family law and criminal defense. Most of your caseload will be in these areas, with an emphasis on courtroom litigation (hearings, contested matters, and trials). As the firm expands, there will be opportunities to grow into additional areas (e.g., immigration and personal injury) based on client demand and your interests/experience.
Who this role is forThis position is ideal for an attorney who:
- Has strong trial/hearing experience, or
- Is a newer attorney with strong advocacy fundamentals who wants frequent court appearances, direct feedback, and coaching to sharpen litigation and trial skills
Depending on experience, you will:
- Appear in court (hearings, settlement conferences, evidentiary matters, trials)
- Develop case strategy, negotiate, and counsel clients
- Draft motions/briefs and handle legal research and writing
- Collaborate with staff to move cases efficiently and communicate proactively with clients

Qualifications (Required)- Active Arizona Bar admission (required)
- Strong courtroom presence and trial advocacy fundamentals
- Strong writing and analytical skills
- Professionalism, reliability, and excellent client communication
- Family law and/or criminal defense (strongly preferred)
- Immigration and/or personal injury (plus)
- Estates & trusts (welcome if you also have strong trial/hearing experience)
Spanish skills are valued for client communication and relationship-building, not for unpaid interpreting or disproportionate caseloads.
Compensation + bonuses- $70,+ DOE
