Position SummarySenior System Administrator (internally known as Senior Analyst) based in Tucson, AZ. You will collaborate with Information Workplace Services and multiple teams to support classified programs. Your role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining secure, cost‑efficient environments across various classified programs. You will guide computing requirements, design end‑to‑end solutions, and solve complex IT infrastructure problems.
What You Will Do- Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment.
- Apply knowledge of Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, AD, replication).
- Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve moderate‑to‑high complexity problems, including hardware and OS integration.
- Manage data RAID, backup technologies, and install/configure software requested by end users.
- Collaborate with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements.
- Document and train on advanced IT processes and procedures.
- Obtain Dept. of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) within 6 months of start.
- Ensure systems remain operational 24/7; may require work beyond standard hours.
- Travel up to 10% of the year to other US domestic locations.
- Full‑time 100% onsite.
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Transferable and current U.S. Secret clearance required before start.
- Experience with Linux or Windows servers.
- Active Directory, VMware, backup, and recovery skills.
- DoDD 8140 / 8570 certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent plus OS certification).
- Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS, or DoD/RMF.
- Data storage expertise (NAS, SAN).
- Project lifecycle management in IT.
- VMware vCenter, vSphere, ESXi experience.
- Support for engineering software, simulations, and hardware development.
- Microsoft WSUS, MECM, Exchange knowledge.
- High‑Performance Computing (HPC) in Linux.
- Scripting experience.
