Lead Steward

The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa is looking for a Lead Steward to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization in our kitchens and stewarding areas.

• Oversee and coordinate the stewarding staff in daily cleaning and dishwashing duties.
• Maintain sanitation and hygiene standards in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Monitor and manage inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and stewarding equipment.
• Support the culinary team by ensuring timely and efficient dish and utensil turnaround.
• Implement and maintain systems for waste management, recycling, and sustainability initiatives.
• Assist with training, mentoring, and scheduling stewarding staff to build a high-performing team.
• Ensure stewarding equipment is well maintained and coordinate repairs when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Strong leadership and team management skills to motivate and guide staff.
• Meticulous attention to detail in sanitation, organization, and safety procedures.
• Effective communication and collaboration with back‑of‑house and front‑of‑house teams.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
• Problem‑solving mindset with a proactive approach to operational challenges.

• Previous experience as a Stewarding Supervisor, Lead Steward, or equivalent in hospitality or food service.
• Demonstrated ability to manage dishwashing and stewarding teams effectively.
• Hands‑on experience with commercial dishwashing equipment and cleaning procedures.
• Proven track record of maintaining sanitation standards and compliance with health regulations.
• Experience in inventory management and basic administrative duties.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Additional training or certification in sanitation, food safety, or hospitality operations preferred.
