• Oversees and assists with the setup, service and breakdown of events, ensuring that all aspects run smoothly.
• Greets and welcomes guests, assists with seating and food service.
• Responsible for assisting with the set‑up, service and clean‑up of all assigned banquet functions; sometimes multiple events in a day.
• Coordinates orders and table service.
• Serves food and beverages to guests efficiently, ensuring proper presentation and timing.
• Works collaboratively with the Event Planning team to ensure exceptional customer service.
• Addresses any unexpected changes such as increases in attendees, changes in dietary restrictions and staffing adjustments.
• Acts as a point of contact for the client and/or host; addresses and resolves client complaints.
• Anticipates potential issues during events and proactively resolves them.
• Assists in the training and mentoring of food service staff.
• Monitors and maintains banquet supplies.
• Ensures all supplies are in good working condition before each event and requests replacements as necessary.
• Ensures safe handling of food and sanitation of equipment.
• Handles customer complaints promptly and works to find a resolution.
• Additional duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of customer service, catering operations and safe food service practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

• Ability to move/transport up to 50 pounds.

• High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
• Five years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.

• Experience with high volume off‑site catering in a University setting.
