Shift Type:  Rotating 12-hour night shifts (schedule varies; published 6 weeks out), 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, nights, every-other weekend and included in holiday rotation

Roles & Responsibilities   Provide high-quality direct patient care across Med Surg, Telemetry and PCU settings with compassion and clinical confidence
Interpret EKGs and dysrhythmias promptly and accurately to guide patient care
Titrate and manage a variety of IV drips (Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Insulin) safely and per protocol
Care for post-procedural cardiac and cath lab patients, including groin site care and post-MI/CABG management
Collaborate with monitor techs, charge nurses and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe patient assignments and transitions
Communicate effectively with patients, families and team members; respond to changes in patient status with urgency and professionalism
Participate in unit-specific orientation and maintain required certifications and competency (including passing the dysrhythmia exam as required)
Qualifications   Active RN license in good standing (license to submit required)
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred; at least 1 year of PCU/stepdown experience required
Comfortable and experienced with telemetry monitoring and EKG/dysrhythmia interpretation
Proven ability to titrate vasoactive and anticoagulation drips per unit protocols
Familiarity with Cerner charting preferred
Must be able to pass the dysrhythmia exam (80% within two attempts) prior to contract start
Must meet radius and employment history requirements: no FT/PT/PRN employment with Common Spirit/CHI/Dignity facilities within the past year and within 50 miles
Education   Active RN license required; BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills   Telemetry monitoring and strip interpretation
ECG/dysrhythmia recognition
IV drip titration and vasoactive medication management
Post-procedural cardiac/cath lab care and groin site management
CPAP/BiPAP and Heated High Flow familiarity
Med Surg and stepdown clinical workflows and patient acuity management
Experience working with monitor techs and using Cerner electronic health records
Strong clinical judgment, prioritization and communication skills in a fast-paced acute care setting
