Hyperbaric Oxygen Technician PRN Days — Tenet Healthcare

• Operating and maintaining the hyperbaric chamber and associated systems as prescribed by a physician.
• Monitoring patients in the chamber, including recording condition and ensuring comfort during treatment.
• Maintaining applicable operating, maintenance, and safety logs.
• Maintaining accurate patient records.

Education

• Required:
  
  High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be certified and/or licensed in one of the following vocations or hold a diploma from an accredited institution in one of the following professions to meet the minimum education and experience requirements: CHt, CHS, CHWS, Documented Hyperbaric Medicine Training, Respiratory Therapist;
  Physician’s Assistant; EMT or Paramedic;
  Military Corpsman; LPN or RN;
  Nurse Practitioner;
  Physician or Physiologist;
  Certified Nurse Aide, Certified Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician.

Experience

• Required:
  
  1 year experience as a hyperbaric technician. Wound care, hyperbaric medicine, and/or experience in emergency medicine or acute care hospital strongly preferred.

Certifications

• Required:
  
  BLS; must complete Introductory Hyperbaric Training Course as approved by the National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred:
  Certified Hyperbaric Technologist from the National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology.
