Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department
Location:
Oro Valley, AZ – Must live 50 miles outside of Tucson
Shift: Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Hours:
36 Hours Guaranteed | Rotating Weekends
Position Summary. The Registered Nurse (RN) holds shift accountability for providing comprehensive nursing care to Emergency Department patients by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act and Hospital policies and procedures. The RN demonstrates critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in anticipating and planning for the safe delivery of patient care in a fast‑paced Emergency Department environment.
EssentialDuties And Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to Emergency Department patients utilizing assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Demonstrate strong critical thinking and clinical judgment in emergency and high-ac>
- Anticipate patient needs and proactively plan for safe, efficient care delivery.
- Maintain clinical competency through ongoing continuing education and professional development.
- Delegate patient care responsibilities appropriately based on staff education, training, and experience.
- Provide direction, supervision, and support to assigned personnel delivering patient care.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Document patient care accurately and timely using the Cerner electronic medical record system.
- Required to float to Marana Emergency Department located at 6350 Marana Center Blvd.
- Must be willing to float between departments and to the following sister facilities:
- Northwest Medical Center
- Northwest Houghton
- Northwest Sahuarita
- Active Arizona RN License
- Minimum 2+ years of Emergency Department experience
- Current certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- Experience using Cerner EMR
- Ability and willingness to float between facilities and departments
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) or CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification
- Fast‑paced Emergency Department with high patient acuity
- Requires flexibility, teamwork, and adaptability across multiple facilities
