Position Summary
The Physical Therapy Assistant treats referred patients, ranging in age from 18 years to geriatric, who are experiencing rehabilitation diagnoses or conditions requiring rehabilitation. The assistant assists in patient care by assessing their medical condition, functional capabilities, limitations, and potential for rehabilitation. Under the direction of the Physician and Physical Therapist, the assistant administers a treatment program with specific goals determined according to the patients’ capacity and tolerance.
The assistant also educates patients and families in appropriate physical therapy methods.
Rate of pay is based on years of experience and qualifications.
Minimum Qualifications- Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross (online certification not acceptable)
- Inpatient rehabilitation experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Detail‑oriented, able to meet strict time frames
