Position Highlights
The Strategic Alternative Learning Techniques (SALT) Center is a nationally recognized program that provides support to more than 650 undergraduates with learning and attention differences at the University of Arizona. This position will be operated under the Assessment for Behavior and Learning Excellence (ABLE) Clinic. ABLE offers formal assessments to the UA Community and the broader Southern Arizona Community. The clinic is committed to providing individualized, "whole person" assessments that build self‑advocacy in our clients through:
- Increasing their knowledge of strengths, weaknesses and diagnoses
- Providing a specific understanding of what is needed to align with their individual goals
- Offering an actionable and understandable recommendation plan for next steps to connect with support and resources
We offer a flexible, FTE range of .75–1.00 with weekly hours tailored to each applicant’s circumstances. The exact FTE/weekly schedule will be agreed upon during the hiring process.

Duties & Responsibilities- Provide direct billable services by conducting psychological, psycho‑educational and neuro‑developmental evaluations for clients referred to the assessment clinic.
- Perform all aspects of psychological, psycho educational, neuro‑developmental, behavioral and other assessments for children and young adults, including clinical interviewing, assessment, interpretation, and delivering understandable and actionable feedback.
- Develop appropriate individual and family recommendations for clients and coordinate with community resources.
- Supervise graduate student trainees (externs and interns).
- Conduct occasional psychotherapy intervention, risk assessments and other duties as assigned for students enrolled in the SALT Center or other UA students. Limited travel within the Tucson area may be required.
- Nuanced understanding of current trends in autism and neurodivergent assessment practices.
- Strong knowledge of best practices in assessing and diagnosing common neurodevelopmental disorders for children, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Learning Disorders and other related diagnoses.
- Ability to communicate efficiently with management, leadership and other key stakeholders.
- PhD or PsyD in Clinical or School Psychology required.
- Licensed in the State of Arizona.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Previous supervision experience.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults and their families.
- AZ School Psychology Certification or Nationally Certified School Psychologist credentials.
