Overview
The Sarver Heart Center is seeking a financial analyst to help support financial operations for the center, including rate studies, expenditures, invoicing, and revenue. The incumbent will help to ensure financial integrity and compliance while supporting research budgeting and enabling Center-wide grant administration.
Responsibilities- Provide financial reconciliation on actuals for all Center accounts, including financial reporting as needed.
- Coordinate the development of the Rare Diseases (RD) Service Center Rate Study in collaboration with FSO and Sarver staff.
- Prepare operational budget for the RD recharge center.
- Manage invoicing and financial oversight for recharge center.
- Prepare quarterly budget projections for all Sarver Heart Center accounts (internal/sponsored/foundation) for reporting to College of Medicine.
- Contribute to the annual budget development in conjunction with the Sarver Business Plan.
- Invoice sponsors, capture milestone payments, ensure subjects receive compensation, and manage (with supervision) the monthly position distribution changes for Clinical Trial team members.
- Meet monthly with PIs and managers to review budgets and expenditures.
- Partner with the business and lab teams to maintain compliance and fiscal accuracy.
- Assist with supporting research labs administratively as needed.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work environments.
- Ability to communicate effectively with different groups and individuals and via multiple methods (written, verbal, in-person, and virtual).
- Ability to work in Microsoft Suite applications (Outlook, Excel, Access).
- Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve various problems or issues.
- Ability to prioritize tasks based on complexity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience is required.
- Three (3) years of relevant work experience is required.
- Experience with UA Systems including UAccess Analytics and UAccess Financials.
- Advanced experience with spreadsheet and database applications including Excel and Access.
- Experience working with budgeted funds in a research or public service setting.
- Working knowledge of UA and UA Foundation policies and procedures.
