The TARAS (Tax Accounting and Risk Advisory Services) practice within EY's NTD assists companies with all aspects of their financial reporting for income taxes, including tax accounting, tax provision procedures, and controls design and testing. The TARAS practice serves the complex and global tax reporting needs of companies for approximately ten years.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Provide clients with tax guidance and consulting related to tax accounting and tax planning (internal restructurings, acquisitions, dispositions, carve-out financial statements, GAAP conversions from US GAAP to IFRS or IFRS to US GAAP, share-based compensation, financial statement restatements, and balance sheet remediation of tax accounts).
• Assist companies with all aspects of their preparation of the tax provision.
• Review the tax provision process to improve efficiency and accuracy and enhance the control environment; assess tax risk and control environments inclusive of and beyond Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404.
• Support process and controls enhancement and identification, prioritization, monitoring, and remediation of key risks.

What you’ll need to qualify

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, with significant tax or legal experience; MST, MAcc, or JD/LLM preferred
• Valid US CPA license or active state bar membership
• Minimum of 5 years of work experience in professional services, tax organization, law firm, or IRS
• Broad understanding and experience with federal income taxation
• Strong analytical, written and verbal communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and attention to detail

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Strong ASC 740, Real Estate, and/or IAS 12 experience; experience in corporate tax planning and compliance; broad exposure to federal income taxation

• The salary range for this role in all geographic locations in the US is $90/hr to $120/hr; individual salaries are determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
