Leonard Workforce Solutions is conducting a confidential search for a Quality Engineer on behalf of a manufacturing organization operating in a highly technical industrial environment. This role supports product quality, manufacturing processes, and cross functional continuous improvement efforts.
About the RoleThis position requires hands on quality engineering experience inside a production or manufacturing setting. The Quality Engineer will ensure products meet defined quality standards throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. This individual will partner closely with engineering, production, supply chain, and warehouse teams to drive process improvements, resolve quality issues, and strengthen overall quality systems.
Responsibilities- Lead root cause investigations using structured problem solving methodologies such as 8D and 5 Whys
- Drive corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurring quality issues
- Develop and maintain quality documentation including inspection reports and compliance records
- Establish and analyze key quality metrics to evaluate system performance
- Support implementation and improvement of quality management systems
- Collaborate cross functionally to improve product reliability and manufacturing consistency
- Support supplier quality initiatives when required
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the manufacturing environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline
- Direct experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems
- Experience with structured problem solving and root cause methodologies
- Strong understanding of quality tools such as SPC, FMEA, DOE, and measurement systems analysis
- Ability to analyze technical data and drive corrective action
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross functionally
- Experience with lean manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, control plans, and GD and T
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP
- Experience supporting supplier quality initiatives
This position is based in Tucson, Arizona. Local candidates are preferred. Relocation assistance may or may not be available depending on experience.
