Description
The Ascent Aviation seeks Liaison Engineers to support multiple commodities and airplane programs. We are looking for proactive individuals who can make quick engineering decisions and who want to go beyond their desk and into the factory for hands‑on engineering.
This position requires excellent communication and collaboration skills, partnering closely with production personnel. The candidate may be assigned to the first, second, or third shift and weekend or daily overtime. This requirement varies from site to site and is typically covered on a rotation basis. This position involves daily exposure to factory environments, including stairs, trip hazards, high‑noise areas, chemical hazards (breathing and handling), and entering airplanes during their many stages of build.
PositionResponsibilities
- Gains and applies basic knowledge of Aircraft manufacturer design and/or engineering principles to develop interim engineering product/process issues throughout production and/or for technical, operational, and quality problems that the customer cannot resolve. With close supervision, provides written dispositions for routine design non‑conformances. Supports activities to identify deviations that could impact design intent and safety and product/process improvements. Represents the engineering community in the build through post‑production environment.
Suggests through experience basic repairs to engineers to speed up structural repairs.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate must work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)- Excellent cross‑functional teaming, collaborative problem solving, building lasting relationships & proficiency in written and verbal communication.
- Bachelor of Science degree or higher in:
Mechanical, Aerospace / Aeronautical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science Engineering;
Excellent problem solving and communication skills;
Ability to lead, work independently and in a team environment.
- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
