Role OverviewRaytheon has an immediate need for a Deputy Program Operations Manager (POM) in Tucson, AZ. This key role leads an Operations Integrated Product Team to ensure successful execution of a production program. The Deputy POM drives overall management and participates in all phases of production, overseeing manufacturing resources, RLPM Gate processes, Manufacturing Plans, Cost Account Management, Estimation at Completion (EAC) reporting, risk and opportunity management, and serves as the primary interface across all operation value streams.
The role also implements engineering change orders, presents reports to customers, Sr. Directors, and VP level, and represents the Integrated Product Team (IPT) and operations performance.
- Apply manufacturing engineering skillsets across the extended value stream to resolve constraints and improve process and product designs.
- Leverage knowledge and technical skills to influence business decisions and results from new designs to recurring production.
- Design, control, and improve the producibility of products through collaboration with a multi‑disciplined team.
- Lead and coordinate projects, efforts and improvements across the extended value streams.
- Act as the manufacturing and producibility authority within the program.
- Identify and resolve constraints across the program.
- Participate in corrective action investigations.
- Provide technical input and peer review to engineering design changes.
- Provide technical guidance and problem solving to factory engineers.
- Manage the coordination and execution of program schedules with Global Supply Chain Management, Subcontracts, Engineering and other functional areas.
- Support Manufacturing Operations strategy and utilize Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE) best practices.
- Lead the effort to develop and implement cost reduction initiatives for both recurring efforts and new business opportunities.
- Coordinate Operations bids for new development and production proposals.
- Generate production plans, make/where plans, and write manufacturing sections of technical proposals.
- A University Degree or equivalent experience with minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with minimum 5 years of experience.
- Experience in Operations, Manufacturing or Engineering.
- Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance required prior to start date; U.S. citizenship required.
- Experience with Operations Management in an Integrated Product Team/Cross Business Team (IPT / CBT) environment to ensure effective transition of programs from design to manufacturing.
- Experience with new product introductions and the design hand‑off to manufacturing process with focus on manufacturability.
- Experience in developing manufacturing strategies and cost proposals.
- Knowledge of and experience with RLPM (Integrated Product Development System) processes.
- Understanding of Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) with proficiency in PRISM.
